We are excited to have signed up our first school, Highland Park Elementary, and are currently gearing up for starting Residencies in 5th grade classrooms as early as January 2011.
What is a Dancing Classrooms Residency?
Dancing Classrooms uses a curriculum-based teaching approach to achieve social awareness and build self-esteem. Students are taught the vocabulary of various contemporary social dances in a sequential manner by a professional Teaching Artist who utilizes the Dulaine Method, a teaching methodology that emphasizes respect and compassion.
The program is a 10 week residency, with classes twice a week, that is integrated within the school curriculum, culminating in a showcase where every child performs.
